This quick guide should help you better understand what free storage is, how to avoid common storage mistakes, and how to get the most out of free storage and use it effectively.
What is Free Storage?
Free Storage is a service offered by Shipito to our customers. This service allows customers to have packages delivered to and stored in their personal warehouse suites for a set number of days before needing to be shipped out.
The number of Free Storage days a customer is allotted depends on several factors including what type of account they have, the number of packages they have shipped in the past month, and whether they are billed monthly or annually.
Free Storage for Free, Premium & Business Accounts
Free Accounts
The Free Account comes with a few basic features and is ideal for those who need to ship a single package or who may only ship a couple of times throughout the year.
Free accounts are allowed 7 days of free storage in either our California, US warehouse or our Austria, Europe warehouse.
Premium Accounts
The Premium Account costs $10/mo or $60/yr, comes with a lot of helpful benefits, and is great for frequent shippers.
Premium Accounts are initially allowed between 45-60 days of free storage. Customers can store packages for up to 90 days if they choose extended storage as a benefit from ranking up.

Business Accounts
The Business Account costs $12/mo or $99/yr, comes with even more featured benefits, and is a great option for high volume shippers and businesses alike.
Business Accounts are allowed between 45-90 days of free storage depending on their rank and the number of packages shipped in one month.

Important Notes
Storage Time Extension
Storage time can be extended by a week for an additional fee of $1 per day for a total of $7 per week of extension. You can extend storage time 4 times for a total of 28 additional days of storage, again, with the $1 per day charge.
Once package storage has expired, the package will be considered abandoned and will be immediately disposed of.
Package Consolidation
When storing packages that you intend to consolidate, the storage time remaining is determined by the oldest package being consolidated.
For example, let’s say that you have a Shipito for Business account, and you are allowed 45 of free storage. You have two packages that you are wanting to consolidate. Package A has already been stored for 40 days and Package B has been stored for only 10 days. In this case, you will need to consolidate and ship these packages within 5 days, before Package A storage time expired, to avoid having Package A disposed of.
Returns Management
This service is geared towards international fulfilment model businesses that sell their products in the US. Returns Management allows you to consolidate & send products to our warehouse, as well as reroute returned products to other paying customers.
Business Accounts that use our Returns Management service are given 90 days of free storage on those returning packages.
